Carol Lee Barrett (Hagerman), 78, died Sept. 15.
Carol was born in Kalamazoo Sept. 12, 1939, the daughter of the late Martha Hagerman (Root), Harold “Moe” Hagerman and Patricia Hagerman. Her father was long-time co-owner of Wolverine Feeds in Martin.
After retiring in 1999, she and husband Charles “Chuck” spent their time between Sandy Pines in Dorr and at their winter home in Leesburg, Fla. Carol graduated from Richland High School, Class of 1957 and later moved to Plainwell, where she and Chuck would raise their family and call home. Carol was an avid bowler and she also owned and operated “The Treasure Chest” for more than 20 years.
Besides her husband of 58 years, she is survived by her sister Kaye Sweet-Stewart, her brother Karl Hagerman, daughter Cindy (Jeff) Stickley, sons Chuck Barrett and Cary (Pam) Barrett, five grandchildren, Marcus (Amanda), Dustin (Brandi), Ben, Travis, Taylor, great grandchildren, Atticus, and Braxton, several nieces and nephews.
It was her wish that in lieu of flowers, any donations be made to Wings of Hope Hospice.
