The Townbroadcast account of the contentious meeting Monday night of the Wayland Board of Education may have been misleading.
Wayland Mayor and Cross-Country coach Jennifer Antel submitted her resignation and a statement about why to the school board. However, because of time constraints, she was unable to complete her reading of her prepared statement. So much of what she intended to say actually was written. Townbroadcast picked up her written statement and added comments within to what she presented orally.
Townbroadcast wrote: “In a prepared statement, she told the board, ‘I’m resigning because I no longer feel that the role of coach is respected or valued in this district…
Townbroadcast regrets the misunderstanding that may have arisen from the reporting of the source of the comments.
