The Hopkins girls’ varsity track is closing in on another O-K Silver Conference championship and can clinch the dual meet title Tuesday with a victory over Kelloggsville.

The Lady Vikings defeated Wyoming Godfrey Lee 113 to 16 Thursday evening in the wet and cold to hike their league dual meet record to 5-0. They still have to win the O-K Silver meet at Belding next month in oder to win it outright.

The Viking boys, meanwhile, squeaked by Wyoming Lee 69-67 to improve its league record to 2-3.

Both Viking squads took part in the Watervliet Relays Friday, but results were not available. The girls’ team this week was ranked No. 10 in the Michigan Track Coaches’ Association power ratings.
