1977 WHS grad Barbara Robinson dies at age 63

Barbara Robinson, age 63, of Plainwell, died Saturday, May 27, at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Barb was born June 23, 1959, in Plainwell, the daughter of John and Eda (Messer) Rasnake. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1977.

On July 9, 1977, in Wayland, Barb was united in marriage to Jeffrey Robinson. She was a stay-at-home mom while her kids were little and when Jeff started Twin City Heating and AC, she ran all aspects of the office. Barb had a strong sense of patriotism, she enjoyed attending craft shows and had a tremendous love for animals. She and Jeff spent many weekends up north at Silver Lake but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. 

Barb is survived by her husband, Jeff; three children, Jennifer (Josh) Reed, Jessica (Ben) Babbitt and Jeffrey (Lindsey) Robinson; 14 grandchildren, Anthony, Austin, Joshua, Joey, Jacob, Owen, Lucas, Ayden, Emma, Ava, Haylee, Brynlee, Hayden and Eliott; four siblings, David (Lana) Rasnake, John (Angie Albers) Rasnake, Bridget Dalrylmple, Lester (Tellie) Rasnake; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Brenda Davidson.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Home, 120 South Woodhams Street, Plainwell, from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 1, fand again Friday, June 2, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Martin United Methodist Church, 969 E. Allegan St.. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. She will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery, Orangeville, following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Allegan County Animal Shelter.
