The Watson Township Board isn’t satisfied with its Internet service with A T & T and may look into other options.

Township Treasurer Stephanie Caulder said he was unable to send information about taxes to the township hall. Trevor Beilby from the Hopkins Area Fire Department said it is having problems with the Watson station because of spotty Internet service.

Clerk Kelli Morris said she has tried to contact A T & T, but concluded, “I feel like we got the runaround instead of service.”

Supervisor Kevin Travis promised he’d have a serious conversation with the provider and let them know Watson may consider another carrier.

In other business Thursday evening, the Township Board:

• Learned from Travis that the Allegan County Road Commission has offered $50,000 for road projects in 2021.

The supervisor also indicated prospects are looking good for sharing with Hopkins Township costs for paving a mile and a half of 124^th Avenue from 15^th Street to U.S.-131 for $30,000 in 2022.

• Reappointed Barb Wrobleski to another three-year term on the Planning Commission.
• Was told by Dillon Thomas from Martin Fire & Rescue that the department responded to a record 166 calls in 2020, 19 of them from Watson Township.
• Learned from Beilby that the Hopkins Area Fire Department had 535 calls from Watson, Hopkins and Monterey townships combined and HAFD received a grant to buy an ATV to be used this spring and summer in Watson Township.
• Was told suspects accused of vandalizing and stealing signs have been identified. The missing signs have been replaced.
