Murder-mystery dinner raises $1,000 for Sylvia’s Place

The United Church of Wayland Saturday evening was host for a special murder-mystery dinner. The fund-raising event collected more than $1,000 for Sylvia’s Place in Allegan, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. Gail Hollinger oversaw the dinner, highlighted by chicken cooked in wine, and Sandy Burkey absorbed all of the costs for food. Forty people took active part in the murder mystery.
