Thornapple Valley Strings to play at next folk session

The Thornapple Vatvstringslley Strings, four talented musicians who have played together for about four years, will be special guests for the next Rabbit River folk gathering at 6 p.m. Saturday at Vibrant Grains, 142 S. Main St.

Band members include Ken Moore from Middleville, lead singer and rhythm guitar; Judy Moore on the stand up bass; Bob Burghdoff from Hastings on fiddle, and Orville Harrington from Hastings on dobro, mandolin, fiddle.

Folk music gathering coordinator J. D. Gonzales said, “They play a variety of music, bluegrass, country, folk, gospel, and instrumentals. They play for fun and the love of music.”

The monthly folk gatherings are held the first Saturday evening of every month at the Vibrant Grains Bakery and Restaurant. The sessions usually feature a special guest, open mic and jam sessions afterward.
