Services Saturday for Ronald Smith of Hopkins

Ronald Charles Smith of Hopkins died Tuesday, March 1. He was 79.

Ron was born to Glenn and Lillian Smith Sept. 7, 1942, in Grand Rapids. His family lived in Grattan, until he was about 10 years old, when they moved to Hopkins. On June 24, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Cline, and they had two children Randy and Angela. They added a granddaughter, Lisa, and three great-grandchildren Hunter, Hollin and Hazel.

Ron had a deep love and appreciation for all things nature. He spent many hunting seasons deep in the woods with family. In the summer, he could also be found out on the lake, fishing, or just enjoying the water. He found great joy in spending as much time as he could with family.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Kubiak-Cook – Dorr Chapel, 4330 18th St., with visitation one hour prior.
