School board hires MASB to help with search for supt.

The Wayland Board of Education, at a special meeting Thursday evening, hired the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) to assist with its search for new superintendent.

The move comes just days after learning current Supt. Dr. Christina Hinds is leaving to take a post as deputy superintendent for the Northview Public Schools, Grand Rapids. Her last day will be June 30, and she has served Wayland for two years.

The board hopes to have someone in place by July 1.
