Resource Center scrap metal removal help sought

The scrap metal pile at the Martin Area Resource Center is reaching maximum density and plans now are to load it up at the end of the month and transport it to a recycling facility.

Proceeds of the sale of scrap metal go directly to the Resource Center’s food program, the Saturday wagon installed roadside just south of town on Division.

Director Harvey Visser said the sales also helps offset expenses of the operations, including utilities.

The exact date the scrap metal will be loaded up for site removal has not yet been determined. Anyone physically able to help with the project is asked to call Visser at (269) 217-8712.

  • “….load it up…” Will the Resource Center be providing a vehicle to transport the scrap to some recycling location? Or are they seeking volunteers with trucks/trailers….
