The building that for more than a half century has been home to the now defunct Kessler’s Undies and Woolies and ITC Holdings came down this week. ITC Holdings’ Wayland warehouse is located at 801 S. Main St. on a nine-acre lot, with approximately one acre available for wildlife habitat. The Kessler’s facility was acquired by ITC in 2006 and is now a warehouse for transmitting high-voltage electricity throughout the Midwest and Canada. Kessler’s at one time was Wayland’s largest employer before it went bankrupt and closed in the early 1990s.
