The Hopkins High School Tech Vikes will be included in this weekend’s state championship competition in FIRST Robotics at Saginaw Valley State University.

The Hopkins group ended the qualifiers ranked second place and were chosen by the No. 1 ranked team for their alliance. The Tech Vikes also earned the Inspiration in Engineering award, for the first time ever. This award is the second most prestigious award FIRST gives out. They are automatically in the running for it again at the state championship meet Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 4-6.

The Tech Vikes’ win and award last week earned enough district points to rank them first in the state going into the state championship.
