Former Martin Township Clerk Denise (Dykstra) Merlau apparently has landed on her feet,
After resigning her post with the township because she had to move, she has been hired to the permanent part-time position of utility billing specialist for the City of Otsego.
“I am so happy to arrive at work every day,” she said. “This crew I spend my days with feels like a huge gift. I have enjoyed getting to know a new community.
“Extra bonus, I am back with my Allegan County Clerks and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be with that amazing group again… My heart is actually so full I am having a hard time putting it into words.”
Merlau earlier this year did some extra work for elections that was caused by the nine days of extra voting and said she enjoyed it. She also has been doing some on the city’s newsletter.
