World War II veteran Carl Lynn’s service will be Wednesday

Carl W. Lynn, 88, of Burnipphoto_20160328_WM0064000_0_20160328s, died Sunday, March 27, at Allegan General Hospital.
Born in Allegan on April 10, 1927, the son of the late William and Lily (Newman) Lynn, Carl was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II. He worked for more than 30 years at Marathon Oil in Muskegon and about 25 years at Rockwell International in Allegan.
Carl was a farmer and had a special love for tractors, adding about 20 or more to his collection. He was a wonderful handyman and could be depended on to help with just about anything that needed fixing.
Carl is survived by his three children: Ron and Sally Lynn, Cathy Gates, and Danny and Jayne Lynn; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Doris Buhler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son, Michael; daughter, Sandra; brother, Ralph; and five sisters: Helen, Grace, Blanche, Nellie and Clara.
Friends may meet with the family from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where the funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Pastor Nancy Patera officiating. Interment at Salem Cemetery in Salem Township.
