Ali Martus’ amazing sub-40, sub-80 streak continues on links

Wayland High School senior ace golfer Ali Martus just keeps rolling along with her amazing streak this season.

Martus, a three-time Class B state qualifier, has broken 40 for nine holes or 80 for 18 holes in every match thus far this season. She carded a 37 Wednesday to lead Wayland to a 198-202 victory over non-conference opponent Byron Center High at Railside Country Club.

Alexis Kirschbaum checked in with a 52, Hunter Fenton with a 53, and Lauren Drew a 56.

Wayland will play in its second O-K Gold Jamboree at Hastings Country Club Thursday. The Lady Wildcats placed third in their first league meet earlier this season.
