Allegan County Covid stats will no longer be reported

Townbroadcast’s weekly updates on Allegan County statistics for Covid-19 cases, deaths and recoveries are being canceled.

The Allegan County Board of Commissioners earlier this month voted to reject a request from the Health Department to earmark some of the federal American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) funds to the department to deal with the pandemic.

As a result, the Health Department is operating on a very slim budget and has made cuts to programs such as regularly scheduled testing and vaccinations, and the weekly statistical dashboard entry on Fridays.

The latest information available continues to show a decrease in number of cases and percentage of positive determinations. Death totals have lagged behind, but they continue to decline as well.

  1. Ignorance is bliss I suppose. At least it appears we are on the downside. One can only hope the dissapation will endure.

What do they say no news is good news. The GOP has denied covid from the start. Same from the old white house 2018 2019 no tests no new cases . Same as usual back off way to fast to start all over again. What is the Allegan GOP board of commissioners going to do with that money. ?
