Allegan County’s Covid-19 death toll climbs to 46

The number of Covid-19 virus deaths since March in Allegan County increased from 43 to 46 over the weekend, according to the Allegan County Health Department.

The death toll was very low in the county between March, when the pandemic began, to September, with only six, but 40 more have perished in October, November and this month.

The number of cases of the Coronavirus now exceeds 5,000, at 5,072, with 128 hospitalizations and 2,967 regarded as being recovered.

Local schools are still operating on a health department grade of “D,” which is one step above having to resort to all virtual instruction. Hopkins and Wayland are operating on a hybrid system, with half of the students attending in person Mondays and Thursdays and the other half Tuesdays and Fridays. Wednesdays are reserved for all on-line and interventions.

Martin has been undergoing an in-person model five days a week.

Despite the recent spike in deaths, the rate of increase in cases lately has been going .

However, all high schools in Michigan are operating under virtual learning only until Dec. 20 under a state health department order announced Monday as extended by 12 more days. Therefore, it’s likely that all high schools in Michigan will be shuttered until early January.

Appears you have access to death numbers. How many deaths are related to the flu. Years back that number was substantial. Just curious how that number ranks now?

    Cheers!!
