Andy Moore to succeed Mark Sisson as Leighton Twp. planner

The Leighton Townsh121019_clas_alumni_luncheon_2012_img_0187ip Board Thursday evening decided to hire Andy Moore as new planner, succeeding the retired Mark Sisson.

Moore is an employee of Williams & Works of Grand Rapids, which Clerk Mary Lou Nieuwenhuis said is fertile ground for planners in West Michigan.

The board agreed to hire Moore for a six-month trial at $85 per hour on an as-needed basis.

Moore earned his bachelor of science degree from Grand Valley State University in 2012 and he has worked since then at Ottawa County GIS, the City of Grand Rapids and for the Grand Rapids Mass Transit System.

Sisson stepped down after 28 years as Leighton Township’s planner to work full-time for Gaines Township.
