Apologies: The traffic crash that was, but wasn’t

Gentle readers:

The editor-proprietor of this on-line rag hereby apologies for publishing fake news — well sort of fake news.

Townbroadcast published a story about a 22-year-old woman from the Martin area who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on M-222 near 19th Street in Watson Township. The problem was that it took place a year ago, not this week.

The editor did not pay attention enough to the date of the incident. He is sorry and is laying low in shame after a keen-eyed reader spotted the problem and told him about his error.

Fake news is intentionally misleading or false. This was a simple mistake. It’s not the same at all.

      Mr. Basura,
      Sir,
Given all the work the editor puts into this newspaper an error will happen. I agree a simple mistake and I am sure a regrettable one.
