A facilitator from the Apple company came to Wayland Middle School this week to co-teach a variety of coding classes in a continuation of the computer science project. He co-taught with Rick Brown and Kim Moore in various classes.

Students in Brown’s STEAM classes and Mrs. Howard’s computer classes, as well as Moore’s web design at the high school, were able to interact with several pieces of Apple’s Learn to Code program, including Get Started With Code, learning how to build an app in About Me, modify an image gallery, and create an app for augmented reality.

This work is a continuation of a computer science grant received from the Michigan Department of Education. A team of educators from Wayland Union Schools continues to plan for the implementation of additional opportunities to learn about computer science fields in order to expose our students to in-demand careers in this field.
