Shelly Sulser, editor of the Battle Creek Shopper News and bird photographer extraordinaire, posted this on Facebook today: “Area birds are all abuzz about this Marbled Godwit that seems in no hurry to leave the pond on 116th Avenue outside of the thriving metropolis of Martin. Marbled Godwits breed in central Canada and in the area around North and South Dakota and northern Montana before migrating back south to Central America and the gulf coast of the U.S. They can also be found on both coasts of the USA. On average, it’s the largest of the four species of Godwit.”
