Area departments reporting surge in grass fire incidents

Area fire department officials are reporting a surge in responding to grass fire reports. Exceedingly dry conditions are making it too easy for residents burning leaves or having camp fires to experience problems.
Yankee Springs Chief Dan Miller said, “It has been an actually a busy week but, any rate, yes, if people would only wait ’till we get a little rain and then do their burning would help everything out fine. With the high temperatures and very low humidity and a little one it doesn’t take long to get something out of control.”
