Well I was going to hold the column until we knew the total outcome of the election; however, my contract with the rich and powerful owner of this esteemed publication calls for a weekly contribution, so a few observations on the current election mess we are in.
The Democrats, who have made their mantra “never let a good crisis go to waste,” used the COVID-19 crisis and seized the opportunity to remake election laws literally at the last moment, not bothering to study the what ifs of their actions, not unlike many things the left does, they lead with their hearts and not their heads.
Former Senator Harry Reid changed the rules to eliminate the filibuster during hearings for a Supreme Court Justice appointment, in the end very bad for the Democrats, when Republicans could get three associate justices appointed much more easily. Changing the voting rules may end up helping the conservative party in the future.
Odds are Vice President Biden will win; the toss up states, the ones too close to call, are run by the Democrats, except for Ohio. Ever ask yourself why the people who cannot count are mostly in Democrat-controlled cities in Democrat-controlled states? We are told there is no election fraud, as no one is prosecuted for it.
OK, having lived in the Chicago suburbs for years, I can tell you in Chicago in darn near every election, precincts report more Democratic Party votes than there are men, women, children, frogs, dogs and hogs living in the precinct. No one is ever prosecuted, so I guess it never happened?
Of the five tossups, too close to call states as of noon on 4 November 2020, four are run by Democrats. See a pattern here? Of the cases of voter fraud, most are in Democratic controlled states; a coincidence? Most problems are in larger cities; if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck it is a duck, even if the duck is never tried and convicted for anything.
So just what happened with the polls? The pollsters who got it wrong in 2016 should have learned and gotten it right in 2020. Some polls had former Vice President Joe Biden winning by as much as 20% overall, carrying Texas, Florida and Democrats winning the Senate by a large margin.
Not all but most polls had a sweep for the socialist party, total control of our government. Either the people who conduct the polls are too stupid to learn from their mistakes, or the polls are conducted to manage the facts and not report them.
No matter who ends up winning the presidential election, this column will continue to be respectful to those who hold the elected office of the commander in chief. I will never call the President stupid names, or mock him/her in a disrespectful manner. We old career soldiers are too set in our ways, too schooled in the belief that in our nation is the best in the world to degrade it.
After the election is sorted out we will have time to examine the outcome; however, I will never believe a national poll again.
Sir,
Thanks so much. The respect aspects are something we all need to keep mindful.
My fear is we have slipped to what most have always deemed a 3rd world nation in regards to our vote. The corruption of the vote is a shame. Frankly a damn shame. My prayer is that we can move back to a honorable practice. It saddens me to think of the profound sacrifices our founders made to have a real voice in government.
Chandler,
Could not agree more.
Thanks.
Army Bob,
Trumpy lost, get over it. We run the country, who wants our way of government, not your way. First thing to do is pass the green new deal, free health care for Americans even illegal Americans from Mexico and other places.
The country wants us and not you.
Army Bob
This election has come to prove our founding fathers had no idea what “freedom to vote ” would turn into.
As our “improved voting process ” kept improving things have gotten worse.
This election has proven letting everyone who can vote have means to cast a vote is truly not working.
There is no doubt voting for our Country’s president will be changed and depending on who you talk to may not ever be better than 3rd world countries have.
Mr. Jones,
You need to crawl back under the rock from whence you came.
Of course, you don’t understand English, so you don’t comprehend what o have expressed so succinctly.
