“Hate speech” is not protected by the First Amendment, and the government must protect us from “hurtful speech,” right? The government and social media must protect us from “triggers,” “code words” and “insensitive words and gestures,” even “dog whistles” right? All “stereotypical references” are hateful and must be banned, right? Referring to illegal immigrants as illegal immigrants or illegal aliens is hate speech and not allowed.
The First Amendment must be a suggestion; it should read, “hate speech is banned against a socially and politically correct group like progressives, socialists and liberals, but not against the unwashed masses on the conservative side of the argument. As in George Orwell’s book Animal Farm, some animals must be more equal than others. Enforcing the law at the border is hateful and needs to be banned as racist, sexist, homophobic and immigrant shaming, right?
Placing children in cages under President Donald Trump is vicious and hatful, but the same or even worse conditions under President Biden are humane and caring, go figure. A long line of socialist politicians made a fact-finding pilgrimage to the southern border when President Trump was in office, but few have under President Biden. Even the sainted Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), who screamed at Border Patrol Agents when President Trump was in office, only made a passing comment about unsanitary and dangerous overcrowding at the border under President Biden.
While we are at it, allowing 120,000 “migrants” with COVID-19 (10% of the 1.2 million) free reign in our nation is ignored by the media, or just not politically correct news, that deserves to be condemned or even reported.
Calling socialist protesters like Antifa, Black Lives Matter and Anarchists, who loot, burn, murder and attack “counter protesters” is correct, but right-wing protesters who are less violent are called terrorists. Political correctness is a very strange thing.
I never thought about it in the years of my youth when the left was allowed to publish grievances in the media, when groups such as The Weather Underground and the Weathermen were bombing the United States Senate, various military facilities, and so radical that even Time Magazine’s Arthur M. Eckstein wrote “… used dynamite bombs to protest government war policies, racial unfairness and corporate greed.”
The left of old today is cheering the banning of free speech on social media, a social media that banned a sitting president, but welcomed ever-celebrated speech that called for violence, and cheered hate speech against the police who were protecting people and property.
Social media allows human smugglers (coyotes) to advertise their services, even offering money back guarantees, along with discounts for those who sign up on social media, and that’s fine, but President Trump is banned. The Chinese have an open platform, but our duly elected president not so much, go figure.
The lie was repeated that capital police officer Brian Sicknick was murdered by right wing terrorists who beat him to death with a fire extinguisher, and it was even added to the second set of impeachment charges against President Trump; this was even though the progressives and the media knew it was a bold-faced lie. Claiming that the protesters on January 6th, 2021, were well armed when no, none, zero weapons were found or seen on the hundreds of hours of video is fine; folks, you can’t make this stuff up.
The District of Columbia’s Coroner held off the initial report for weeks when the gross autopsy (a view of the body before opening it for examination) clearly showed a number of blunt force blows to the head were NOT the cause of death. The media as a whole came to tell the truth weeks after the facts were known, and in some cases like Perter Hermann and Spencer S. Hsu of the Washington Post, over two months later. Point this out and you are a conspiracy theorist and a right-wing nut job, too stupid to understand the actual facts.
At this point a carnival barker has more credibility than the socialist/progressive politicians and their willing allies in the media.
My opinion.
“A number of blunt force blows to the head were not a cause of death.” Your words. Were those blunt force blows with a feather? With a pillow? With a weapon? Please explain your words.
Mr. Beck,
Thank you for the question.
According to the Washington Post, Dr. Francisco J. Diaz, the Medical Examiner, found no evidence of external or internal injuries. Officer Sicknick sadly suffered a massive stoke days after the incident.
Thanks again.
