Army Bob: For Dems this week, no bad news allowed

by Robert M. Traxler

The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has been blasting the holy crap out of Hamas in the last week. Have you seen much coverage on the “mainstream media?” Probably not, as the truth would upset the “from the river to the sea” mob, and that would not be good for the Democrats in Chicago.

A fired up anti folks’ community would cause embarrassment to the Democratic base. One anti-Israel activist stated that the “Jewish Nazis” have murdered 50,000 children in the latest offensive, and some people actually believe it. Hate is a strange emotion, that causes people to abandon common sense.

The Ukrainians have entered Mother Russia, penetrating 14 kilometers into Russian territory. They were stopped, as most Ukrainian offensive actions are, by Russian fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Where are the F-16 fighting Falcons that our government has said are on the way to the Ukraine for well in excess of two years now, and “are being delivered as we speak” two weeks ago?

The Ukrainians have captured a large number of Russian soldiers. Have you seen a lot about that on the alphabet media? Probably not, as it would upset the antiwar folks at the Democrat National Convention. Anything less than good news is not national news this week, only happy faces are allowed. Context and questions are not permitted, only canned focus group studied scripts are allowed.

One must ask if we are a socialist nation with a government that is all knowing and powerful, with the media being willing accomplices of the government as it historically has always been in a socialist society?

From now until the election will be a good news zone, only news that makes the Democrats look good will be covered. The media will put a happy face on the good and ignore the bad, all in an effort to increase the federal government bureaucracy’s power and take it away from the elected officials at the state, county and community levels.

“There are fewer border crossings today than when (President) Trump left office,” said President Biden on 19 August at the Democrat National Convention. Has anyone asked, who is left in the world who want to cross our border illegally?

Some estimates are that 16 million “migrants” have illegally entered our nation. Again, context; migrants are allowed to fly directly into American cities after using an app on their phones, and are not counted as border crossings.

Campaign ads against former President Trump saying we must follow the Constitution are all over the airwaves, but aren’t the Democrats banning free speech, calling it incorrect, hate or hurtful speech? Aren’t the Democrats calling for the elimination of the Second Amendment and the Ninth, wishing to take power from the States and concentrate it into federal laws and regulations?

Army Bob Traxler

If the Supreme Court follows the Constitution, Democrats call for the dismantling of the court. Every time we hear sure, we have a constitutional right, ‘but’, it is time to guard your constitutional rights.

Vice President Kamala Harris has stated that she wants to give $25,000 of free money to help first time home buyers afford a house. As President Biden has said, “come on man.”

Do people actually believe that the cost of homes would not just increase by $25,000, as the free money has no value? The result will be even more inflation and much higher real estate prices. The program sounds good until one spends a few seconds thinking it over.

Vice-President Harris has said that we need government price controls to fight inflation; again, sounds good, but price controls always end badly, ending in more inflation and shortages, and even give birth to black market activities. Why produce a commodity that you lose money on? Beware of what you wish for as you may get it. My opinion.

Hogwash. Where exactly is the evidence for what you claim? ‘Some people?’ Who? Credible sources? Cite them.

Regarding price controls, what would you suggest for companies that claim inflation is causing price increases, but then posts $670 million in profit the third quarter of their fiscal year 2024 and gave huge bonuses?

Kellogg’s CEO Gary Pilnick suggested that consumers eat cereal for dinner to save money. The company’s average price per unit (box of cereal) was up 17% at the end of 2023, and its profits rose 540% in 2023.

      Ms. Linda,
Thank you for the comment. The cost of everything is up, thanks in part to the government regulations on farmers. Kellogg’s/General Mills is a multinational company (Kellanova) that has expanded it’s sales world wide. If you do not approve of Kellogg’s purchase generic brands.
In a capitalist economic system a seller is free to sell product for what the market will support, you have a choice to purchase other brands.

The largest increase of cost for all products is the increase of fuel costs since Joe Biden, in his infinite wisdom, issued a presidential order to cease the pipeline with Canada and ceased all new drilling on public lands by not issuing oil drilling permits.
Then after prices soared because lack of domestic oil, Biden allowed the strategic oil reserve to be used. Of course, this was cheap oil compared with refilling the reserve with expensive foreign oil.

We are now more dependent on foreign oil than ever. Saudi, Russian, and far east oil is now powering our economy more than ever before. Thanks Joe!

The Democrats destroy everything they say they are trying to help. Good luck if Harris/Walz is elected.. it will be Biden on steroids.

It is certainly true, Mr. Traxler, that there are those who would curtail certain rights of some of the people. Those people appear to be Republicans. It is part of the Republican agenda to take away a woman’s autonomy where her reproductive rights are concerned. It is part of the Republican agenda to determine what subjects can and cannot be taught in school. Further, it is part of the Republican agenda to determine the content of subjects they see fit to allow at all. It is part of the Republican agenda to determine what books can be held in public libraries, thus limiting a full range of information that can be had by American citizens, particularly citizens below the age of 18.

When you rail against those who would erode the Bill or Rights, look to your own party, sir.

Democrats may be guilty of the sins you accuse them of, but if would behoove you to clean up the party to which you align yourself before you bemoan your perceived persecution.

    My opinion.

    Ms. Mandaville,
The abomination of Roe vs. Wade was finally struck down based on flawed logic. It always should have been a states rights issue and how it would be governed to be determined by each state. The Democrat Party has two issues it uses EVERY election cycle – race and abortion. And it is disingenuous on both issues.
Every time voting requiring picture ID and limiting the abortion term is verboten according to Democrats. Evidently, according to Democrats, most persons of color either don’t drive with a legal drivers license or have another legal form of identification to show for authenticating legal citizenship and voting registration. How insulting!
Your assertions about allowing those under the age of 18 to all and any literature in public libraries, did you display pornographic literature in Henika Library? I’m not speaking of racy romantic novels but Playboy, Playgirl, Hustler and others of that level?
Even you, the liberal you are, know that would be inappropriate in a public library.

Your arguments and points of view are illogical and fit nicely with Marxist Democrat stances.
    Nice try!

Bass Man, whoever you are, you miss the boat on two important points.

One — the abortion debate. It should be neither the states’ nor the fed’s business to interfere in a woman’s decisions where her reproductive rights are concerned. The argument ends here. When abortion is a procedure that she wishes to pursue, her doctor and/or pastor might be involved in such a very intimate decision, but it is never the business of the government to stick its nose into personal autonomy.

Two — it is very important that any librarian and her board consider the audience their library serves. In a small library such as Henika it was physically difficult to segregate materials such as those you cite to areas of the facility where young people would reasonably have access. But it is the library’s responsibility to serve all of a tax-paying community in as responsible a manner as possible.

A free society needs to have access to all manner of material for that society to be informed and free. Further, it is not the job of any library and its employees and board to act as parents to children who may frequent the library. It is the job of parents to do just that, parent their own children. To that end, it is the job of parents to police what their children read/view/hear.

It is not the job of the library to cater to those who abdicate their responsibilities to other agencies. As a point of information, libraries have been known to carry such periodicals as you have cited. Libraries work very hard to know their clientele, to purchase such materials and formats as their taxpayers desire, and to house those materials in a responsible way. The American Library Association’s Bill of Rights clearly spells out the parameters by which our free society keeps its citizenry informed and entertained.

I would suggest that it is the Republican Party whose stance is out of touch.
