Army Bob: Fraud indeed exists with mail-in voting

We are told voter fraud simply does not exist, as people are rarely convicted of voter fraud. As a person who lived in the Chicago area for over a decade, I can tell you voter fraud does indeed exist; the victors of the election do not prosecute those who got them elected.

Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., President Kennedy’s very rich capitalist father, was asked for more money to “pay for a larger victory” in Illinois during his son’s race for president in 1960; reportedly he said that he will pay for a win, but not a landslide. In every election, every one, Chicago had more people vote in some precincts than there were people living in the precinct. Jokes like ‘bury me in Chicago, as I have voted Democrat my entire life and I want to continue after my death,’ are common and have some truth to them.

Wisconsin and Georgia purged their voter lists and removed more than 550,000 voters, mostly those who passed away. The action required by federal law was called, you got it, racist, sexist, xenophobic and homophobic. Under the proposed law, all 550,000 addressees would have received a ballot and it could have been sold or voted with impunity.

Cases of people who worked in assisted care facilities requesting and filling out ballots for their patients, some who were comatose, were and are common. The absentee ballot laws make that process only slightly questionably illegal.

In Florida in the 2000 presidential election, President George W. Bush won by 537 votes. Let’s say we have a “swing state” like Florida in the 2020 election where everyone gets a ballot before election day. Both parties could have people armed with a registered voters’ list who could pay people for their unopened ballot.

If Republicans had a mind to, they could pay a registered Democrat for his/her ballot, say $1,000 unopened and unsigned, and just hold it until after the election or destroy it. No forged signatures, no violation of law, as they did not sign or fill out the ballot; and they did not vote the ballot, so what crime has been committed? For a paltry $1,000,000 that process could have seen a President Al Gore.

You and I may say that even if offered more than a thousand dollars for my ballot, I would not sell it. You or I may not, but we all know people who would, and for less than $1,000. With 2.4 billion dollars spent on the 2016 elections, it came to $380 per vote, with Democrats spending more than Republicans. An expenditure of a mere $40 million in a few strategic swing states could make an enormous difference, and we would have a President Hillary Clinton.

Think it over: President Trump won Michigan by 10,704 votes; for a mere $11 million or even a lot less Secretary Clinton could have won our state.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to ask our Democrat friends if they would support a mandatory sentence of five years for anyone selling a ballot, and twenty for anyone purchasing a ballot? Probably not, as voter fraud historically breaks in favor of the Democrats. The mantra would be that it would hurt minorities and the poor the most, so such a law would be one more time, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, aqua phobic and claustrophobic.

Automatically sending a ballot to every voter, what could possibly go wrong? The current process requiring all voters to request an absentee ballot uses a signature in the requesting process and forging a signature is a crime. The new movement of blanket sending a ballot to everyone on the voting list is an invitation for massive voter fraud; however, it is a good or bad system based on which party it benefits.

An axiom in the election process is that Republicans benefit from bad weather on election day as their voters are more dedicated and go to the polls even in a snowstorm, Democrats to a lesser extent. Blanket mailing of ballots will help one party over the other; rationalize the process anyway you wish, but it is designed to help the Democrats.

On a different topic, it is time we mask up and open up our state, schools, restaurants, stores, gyms and jobs. Our governor will not open our state until after the election. If you think it is all about protecting us you are incorrect. It was and is about our governor’s failed quest for vice president and the election. Shame on her.

It is a shame, a dirty shame.

      Chandler,
      Well said.
      Thanks for the comment.

My interpretation of your article seems to say… that even today the absentee ballot way of voting …needs the personal vote at a polling place to negotiate and fraudulently voted absentee ballots.
I personally fail to “buy into” the fear of massive fraud that will happen by mailing your vote in. Your article brings forth points that can be controlled to prevent fraud which I’m guessing do/ will be in place)., Has anyone really read/ saw the process of mail in voting…or are we just assuming ballots will be mailed “willy nilly” without and checks or balances.
We don’t have to give our countries leaders much credit… but I doubt both parties do not have input in this process.
Everyone wants to believe that the states with the most electoral votes will be the centers of fraud. Unless it’s changed, the popular vote does not elect… otherwise our current President may not be in office… correct.
The day is coming when voting will be done from the comfort of your favorite chair… as with all things, change is hard to accept… but it does happen.

      Mr. Smit,
      Harry,
The left is advocating for 100% mailings to every registered voter, using the voter registration list, what could go wrong!
      Thanks for the comment

        Mr.Traxler.
As you said they are advocating…but have not gotten it….because of those knowing there had to be a system of checks….much like Michigans absentee ballot process….
Less chance of fraud with much stiffer penalties, current updating of qualified voter lists ( deaths removed quicker than they maybe now) ..and other qualification checks….and going to the polls will become history ( if they are still teaching history)
