Army Bob: The left must admit to climate change hoax

by Robert M. Traxler

OK, the United States sets the example and cuts greenhouse gases by 25%, along with Western Europe. Even with that if you believe the holy grail of Climate Change is settled science, not to be questioned, then we are all goners.

As even intelligent people say “I believe in Global Climate Change,” unquestionably believe, if so, then in nine years it is all over. Just why the American left cannot see the stupidity in the argument baffles me; a reasonable and prudent person knows better but the left is so invested in Climate Change, so backed into a corner, so unbending in their almost religious belief they will not open their eyes .

The world with a 11% growth rate in nine years will increase greenhouse gases, not decrease them over all, for the magical nineyears. Again, if you believe in Global Climate Change as 100% true, settled science, no questions allowed, then it is all over.

Just why the left will not admit they made a mistake and overstated the argument I do not know. Perhaps after the election the left will have an epiphany, probably not. Global Climate Change will go the same place the hole in the Ozone Layer, Global Cooling, Global Warming and a few others went. Billions have been made by the environmental industry who move seamlessly from one disaster pay day to the next.

Time for the left to stand up and admit to wild exaggeration, over blown scare tactics and take the trillions paid to them to the bank.

If real, why are the brilliant people on the left, the academics, the politicians, not building survival shelters? Ships to other planets? Why are they taking out 30-year mortgages, selling kids educational debt for 20 years in the future? Planning for retirement? Having families? Purchasing vacation homes? If they unquestionably believe in the holy dictate of Climate Change, then why bother?

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, while selling the “Green New Deal,” said that the world will end in 12 years if nothing is done to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gases by 25% worldwide. Three years have passed since the prediction.

“Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z… we’re like: ‘The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,'” Ocasio-Cortez said in January 2017.

Similar past predictions – even by the most prestigious experts – have failed to pan out. A few of the biggest doomsday prediction failures:

1.– GLOBAL WARMING TO WIPE NATIONS “OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH” IF CLIMATE CHANGE NOT ADDRESSED BY YEAR 2000

2.– MASS STARVATION BY 1975

3.– GLOBAL FREEZING AS DANGEROUS AS NUCLEAR WAR

Global cooling was once a worry to many, such as University of California at Davis professor Kenneth Watt, who warned that present trends would make the world “eleven degrees colder in the year 2000 … about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”

4.– MASSIVE WARMING BY THE YEAR 2000

The same U.N. official who predicted the loss of entire nations by the year 2000 also claimed: “the most conservative scientific estimate [is] that the Earth’s temperature will rise 1 to 7 degrees in the next 30 years.”

But looking back from 2019, the temperature rose about half of a degree Celsius since 1989, according to NASA.

6.– Vice President AL GORE SAYS 10 YEARS ARE LEFT IN 2006

In 2006, while promoting his movie “An Inconvenient Truth”, Al Gore preached that humanity had only 10 years left before the world would reach a point of no return.

Gore’s movie also featured animations of water inundating Manhattan and Florida by 2016.

7.– ENVIRONMENTAL CATASTROPHE WILL CAUSE “NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST” BY THE YEAR 2000

In 1982, U.N. official Mostafa Tolba, executive director of the UN Environment Program, warned:

“By the turn of the century, an environmental catastrophe will witness devastation as complete, as irreversible, as any nuclear holocaust.”

No disaster occurred as of 2020.

8.– MASS EXTINCTION BY 1995

In 1970, Sen. Gaylord Nelson, D-Wisc., – often considered the “father of Earth Day” – cited the secretary of the Smithsonian, who “believes that in 25 years, somewhere between 75 and 80 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct.”

As of 2020 that did not happen.

9.– METALS DEPLETED BY 1990

Scientist Harrison Brown predicted in Scientific American that lead, zinc, tin, gold, and silver deposits would be fully depleted before 1990.

Nope.

So why do we have an industry taking billions to fight the current disaster prediction?

According to economist Walter E. Williams, the environmentalists have occasionally tipped their hand about what motivates their predictions.

“We have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements, and make little mention of any doubts we might have,” Stephen Schneider, a professor of biology at Stanford University, said to Discover magazine in 1989. “Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.”

Professor Williams also cites Sen. Timothy Wirth, a Democrat from Colorado, who said in 1988: “We’ve got to … try to ride the global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong … we will be doing the right thing anyway in terms of economic policy and environmental policy.”

Lying is never OK. To mislead people is never OK.

In recorded history I count more than 110 predictions of the end of life on Earth. We are still here.

I love the conclusion. Lying is never OK. To mislead people is never OK. Tell that to Trump. I guess lying and misleading is OK if it fits your narrative. I say this as a voter who is non partisan.

The Trump supporters have all sold their souls to support a person who has zero morals. This can’t be debated, look how he treats anyone, and I mean anyone, who doesn’t fall in line with his thinking. Army Bob is a prime example. Just watch others do the same in response to my comment.

    A reader,
    Thanks for the comment.
I hope the hate in your heart keeps you warm at night. Please refute the content of the column, or is your answer to all things “I hate President Trump”.
    Thanks again.

  3. John Jones

Crap, Crap and Crap. All you imbeciles who do not believe the science are too stupid to exist. Climate Change is settled you morons do not get to question it. And it is trumpys fault all trumpys fault. A Reader is correct, smart and needs to be followed.

    • Robert M Traxler

      Mr. Jones,
Thank you for the comment. Once again your eloquence is only dwarfed by your intelligence.

  4. John Wilkens

    AB,

Excellent!! Those pesky little facts often get in the way of the global warming narrative……check that now called climate change.

    Cheers!!

    • Robert M Traxler

      Mr. Wilkens,
      John,
Thanks for the comment and cheers!! to you.

    Way to go, Army Bob,
Ya got them roiled up again.
I love how everything is the current President’s fault. Damn, he couldn’t even get the virus correctly.
Science and scientists are not always correct. Your examples are proof of that.
The planet may or may not exist forever.. there were no instructions when it was formed. Humans have proven they are not perfect, so be happy you are still living.
If you are really concerned, give up all things that contribute to pollution and climate change. As those against mask wearing say, ” Stay locked down,” don’t possess or enjoy the amenities of modern life that help pollute the planet.

    Mr. Traxler,
If you are going to merely change the order and list 9 items to support your continuing Chinese Menu approach to science you could at least offer citation of the major source of your opinion.

The list was 10 and much of your opinion came from an article titled: “10 times “experts” predicted the world would end by now” authored by Maxim Lott and published on FoxNews website on March 19, 2019. Your list was nearly verbatim.

Guess plagarism is okay while lying by people with whom you agree is acceptable.

I was looking forward to an Army Bob column where you would tell folks why you still view President Donald Trump as a centrist; how President Trump has brought back the coal industry; how major utilities and energy companies have eschewed solar, wind and hydro power and reinvested in coal. Maybe how Amazon, USPS, UPS are investing in all electric delivery vehicles while Honda has announced they are dropping out of F1 racing so they can dedicate that portion of their R&D to electric motors for their passenger vehicles.

  7. Robert M Traxler

    Mr. Couchman,
    Thank you for the comment.
Fox News was a source as were others. UPS and the others you site, state they will change over to all electric with a goal of 20 years. The end of the world will be in nine years? Thank you again for making my point. The organizations you cite do not believe in the climate change as preached, apparently nether do you. If the end is in nine years and “settled science” why do you applaud them? Is it too little too late? Also the United States and Western Europe will not make the difference as China and India are increasing population/pollution and production not cutting it by 25%. Without knowing it, you validated my argument, thanks again for the help.
    Thanks for verifying my premise.

  8. Couchman

Proved my point Army Bob. You don’t like citing the sources of your rants. Evidently you like using others work and call it your own.

Like always those climate scientists are never correct. If that’s the case, why not put lead back into gasoline, quit enforcing pollution laws so industry can save millions in refuse costs and admit the doctors who said smoking was good for you were right all along.

“Common sense” and Chinese menu science are fine for individuals but not when my family can be affected by science deniers like yourself. Next time you have a health emergency I’ll wager you don’t do your consult with your health plan’s economists, lawyers and accountants.

    • Robert Traxler

      Mr. Couchman,
Sir, hit a nerve did I? Perhaps you realize the climate change gods are wrong, again? You do seem overly concerned with my health, thank you kindly for your concern.

  9. Don't Tread On Me

Mr. Couchman, it is an opinion piece. It requires nothing but a coherent and cogent written opinion. You have an opinion, and you know everyone has one, even Mr. Jones (bless his heart)!
Maybe you should ask the editor to allow your opinions to flow every week as a feature?
