While observing the media covering President Donald Trump and reading the columns and editorials printed in this esteemed newspaper, I find one thread that runs through most of the publications: an irrational disdain for the President so pervasive that people do not even realize how unhinged they are.
People passionately believe that President Trump did nothing in the early days of the pandemic to control the spread. Exactly how that lashes up with the charge that President Trump’s travel ban to and from China was premature and xenophobic I can’t figure out, but who cares, rational thinking is replaced by hate (a word I do not use lightly but one that is appropriate).
People honestly feel the nation remaining closed is an unquestionable act, not open for debate, and that if you wish to ease controls, you condone the murder of tens of thousands of Americans. The sentiment appears to be “agree with me or you are too stupid to draw breath.” Our media and dedicated anti-Trump forces appear to have a deity complex, a belief system that is not questionable.
The media early on in President Trump’s first term were convinced that he is a Russian paid agent, and the facts would come out any day now. Just why a billionaire would be a paid Russian agent was lost on them, objectivity replaced by irrational hate (again, a word I do not use lightly). Remember the holy grail published in the media ad nauseum? ‘The Mueller Report would prove once and for all that the President…. Just as soon as the impeachment hearings open it is all over for Trump, the truth will come out that….’
The whole LTG Flynn case goes to the effort of the “Deep State” cabal of the FBI, NSA and CIA to negate a free and fair election and to destroy a President who openly questioned the agencies’ competence. LTG Flynn was a conduit to President Trump; turning him would provide the absolute proof they were certain exists that President was a Russian sleeper agent.
Newley released FBI documents prove that the goal of the Flynn investigation was to trap him in a false statement to get leverage and on him to inform on the President. At that time and again later I warned that if this does not scare the hell out of you, it should. Folks, you cannot make this stuff up.
The new line of attack joined by the media and the Trump haters is that President Trump was too slow, criminally slow, in reacting to the COVID-19 pandemic, and he has the blood of thousands on his hands. Let’s look back; during the first days of the virus coming out of China and even to the United States, what was the predominant news story? Impeachment, remember impeachment?
If President Trump had shut down the nation during that period, the press would have been apoplectic. The Washington Post may have run articles like, “Trump is a dictator.” They had already printed that he wants to dissolve the government and take absolute power, or that Trump denies the American people their constitutional right to assemble and protest, as he is sure they would rise up and storm the White House in reaction to impeachment.
During the impeachment hearings, if President Trump had ordered the closing of schools, colleges and universities, do you think the media and those who operate the higher education industry would have praised him? Not a snowball’s chance in hell.
Ask yourself: how do the media folks square going from “Trump is a xenophobe for banning travel to and from China,” to “he did not act fast enough in banning travel to and from China?” Who cares, the anti-Trump folks get to walk on both sides of the street; you can do that when you control the narrative.
A few media folks, Michael Moore and Stephen Colbert and others are working with the Democratic National Committee to refer to the COVID-19 virus as the Trump virus; time will tell if that coordinated effort will get traction.
The American left, at least some, know history and they know that first-term presidents win in good economies and lose in poor economies. The longer the nation remains closed, the lower President Trump’s chances of being re-elected. Have you noted that most Republican Governors are opening states, and many Democrat Governors (ours included) are advocating for keeping their states shuttered?
To chill free speech and to control power, the left is accusing those of us who wish to open the nation up with solid workable controls of being nothing less than mass murders. So glad far the left is so inclusive and non-judgmental.
Well spoken, Army Bob, I could not agree with you more. The left loves this shutdown, as does our horrific governor. The only reason the dems insisted the government give out an additional $600 to the unemployed was to make those not working make more on unemployment than they were when they were working. Putting that mind set in the sheeple is a way to build the Democrat base in their minds.
Remember in the words of crooked Hillary, never let a good crisis go to waste.

Agree, the American left believes the government must be the only allowable force for good. The left also believes the government is our father and mother and we are children. Cradle to grave, most on the left feel the government must run our lives for us, as we are just to stupid and not capable.
