Army Bob: Woe be unto those who challenge the hateful left

Army Bob: Woe be unto those who challenge the hateful left

The Police are all violent racists

The military are a bunch of imperialist baby killers

All who work on Wall Street are evil

Religion is an opiate for the masses

Science disagreement is science denying

The great unwashed masses must be told what is good for them

Americans are racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic, bigoted and unfair

Conservatives are a basket of deplorables and unredeemables

A mother driving her kids to school is more dangerous than radical Islamic terrorists

We could go on, but you Army Bob Salutesget the drift. The left will tell us they are the loving caring ones who are nonjudgmental and open to all different opinions; they will tell us we conservatives are closed minded. Denial is not a river in Egypt it is what our liberal friends are suffering from. Political correctness, micro aggressions, safe zones, and censorship are staples of the left; disagreement in any form is called hate speech and not allowed in our colleges and universities.

Just how disagreement with the left on global warming or climate change is racist, sexist, homophobic and Islamophobic I do not know, but as a conservative I must be just too dumb to understand.

Quite frankly, only one of the five uber-liberal columnists who scribble in the pages of this august publication have had the intestinal fortitude to renounce the self-imposed censorship found at our institutions of higher learning, good for her. The other four will unplug her electric car and have changed the locks on the liberal unisex bathroom, covered her solar panels, and broke her windmill; disagreement against the liberal politically correct Holy Grail is an unforgiveable sin.

The hate of law enforcement, disrespect for the flag, national anthem, the military and military veterans has overstepped the level of hate most Americans will tolerate; the left will not understand this and keep pushing us left — farther than the American people will put up with, and the result will be the pendulum swinging back to the right. Fox News is a good example of the intolerance of the liberals. NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and PBS are all left of center; the right has Fox news, Talk Radio and a small minority of the internet. The free speech left has attempted to censor even those few conservative voices.

The United States Attorney General is “studying” possible criminal action against climate change deniers. In Bob Traxler_0two states the Attorneys General are attempting to prosecute those who disagree with the religion of climate change/global warming. Could there be a greater threat to free speech than jailing anyone who funds studies that attempt to challenge the science involved in climate change, using research and logic? Our friends on the left are so blinded by the hate they have developed for disagreement that they cannot see the absurdity of using the criminal justice system to censor thought in the pursuit of science.

The left has always been more terrifying in contemporary history than the right; the socialists in National Socialist Germany, the Soviet Socialist Republic, Peoples Republic of China, fascist Italy and others have murdered tens of millions in the name of socialism and in the pursuit of group think. Most of the worst despots of the last hundred years have also been journalists: Hitler, Mousseline, Mao, and Stalin all edited newspapers. They were socialists who used media to condemn politically incorrect thought.

As a nation we do this radical swing left and then we swing back right. The nation’s pendulum has swung left; we are not quite to the end of the swing left, but close. Give it another year or two and we will stop the left wing foolishness and become more logical open and accepting. Give it two more years and our colleges will start to return to institutions of free thought, not just heavily censored politically correct thought.

It will be up to you to decide if you like our nation better with the pendulum in the center. It will be up to you to decide if you want free speech or politically correct government approved speech. It will be up to you to decide if you want to burn our flag and Constitution to pursue socialism.

You object to broad characterizations of your side’s point of view, but feel free to broadly characterize those that differ. You seem to appointed yourself spokesman for the left, oddly enough. It’s easy to make a straw man and then attack him. While it’s easy, but I expect you’re capable of better things.

      Mr. Basura,
Army Bob is not a spokesman for the left, nor for the right. He is pointing out wrong and right and how the leftist, Marxist, Democrats are now unhinged along with the compliant, supportive, fawning media. He’s not capable of better things, he is a “better thing” and demonstrates the best of “better thing” thinking.
Something we should all strive to emulate and practice – even you and all the other hacks on the Left. Sometimes they are lucid and off the dope smoking for a few days and even write something worthwhile, but then revert to their Leftist ways.
Thankfully, there are a few Conservative writers (2 against 5 – about equal I’d say, as any Conservative writer is worth 2 or 3 Marxist Lefty writers) in Army Bob and Ranger Rick. At least someone represents what is right about America.

      Thank you for the comment.
So what is it you object to in the column? if I appointed myself a spokesperson, not spokesman for the left (very politically incorrect gender use you need to go to a safe zone) I sure did not wish to, the left has the media and majority of the folks who scribble in the pages of this publication to speak for you, Ranger Rick and I attempt to provide balance.
Thank you for making my point with the condescending comment “you’re capable of better things” meaning you should be smart and agree with the left.

I did not intend to be condescending. I apologize.

    • Robert M Traxler

      Mr. Basura,
      Very graciously accepted.

    Army Bob,

You might assume you can get away with outrageous positions such as what you’ve shared here when you only speak in blatant hyperbole, appealing only to emotion, but by doing so you have left this piece 100% devoid of any substance.

You speak of our Attorney General “possibly looking into” taking legal action against climate deniers, yet you completely fail to mention that Sen. James Inhofe–bought and paid for by big petrol–has actually been devoted to criminalizing and prosecuting climate scientists for the past decade, and in doing so has seriously harmed the crucial life’s work of many of these scientists, such as James Mann.

You claim our country is swinging to the left, yet our top tax rate has gone from 92% under Eisenhower (R) to 77% under Nixon (R) to 50% under Reagan (R) to 35% under Obama (D). I’m also fairly sure that during these past 50 years, the percentage of our federal budget devoted to military spending has significantly increased, while the percentage of our federal budget for education has decreased drastically.

On top of that, Donald Trump shares more in common with the fascist dictators you’ve listed than any political figure in recent memory. More people in the US are killed by toddlers with handguns than are killed by Islamic terrorists. Army Bob, I also doubt that you know where any safe zone physically exists, nor have met a person that has encountered one. I also doubt that you can identify the harm caused by windmills, solar panels, electric cars, or unisex bathrooms. (For our sake, please try, though.) I would also love to hear your explanation of how our flag and Constitution demand extreme capitalism. (I was under the impression that in reality there could exist no such thing as full-blown capitalism, and that that false dichotomy is simply a holdover symptom of old white people’s knee-jerk reactionism to the Cold War, as our society is undeniably a simultaneous mix of individual and social needs. Moreover, all economic signs from the last 50 years point to an abysmal failure of the trickle-down hoodwink, as we have continued to move too far right in regard to those individual vs. social needs.)

I don’t watch any news, but I assume the hot air in this column is the sort of puffery promoted by Fox News–devoid of substance but full of ignorance and fear. I am being judgmental, and I am not open to ill-informed opinions. I think all forms of racism, sexism, homophobia, and Islamophobia are outright deplorable. I think there are conservatives who simply need to try harder. Sorry if that hurts your feelings, Army Bob.
