The City of Wayland unveiled the new renovated city park Thursday afternoon with a ribbon cutting, and the star of the show easily was the splash pad. Youngsters here waited until Mayor Tim Bala and other dignitaries cuts the ribbon before rushing to partake of the wet fun. The more than $500,000 project also has included removal and replacement of the existing playground equipment, and improvements to the recreational courts.
The project was funded in part by a Recreational Passport Grant from Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Dora Weaver Foundation and City of Wayland.
