Baker children honor Dr. Seuss birthday a day later

Wayland had a snow day Wednesday, MaBaker Thing 1 & 2 (5)rch 2, the 112th birthday of Dr. Seuss, but students in Kelly May’s Young Fives classroom and Lynn Donaldson’s first grade classroom Thursday dressed up like “Thing 1 and Thing 2.” Children across the country celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday in a variety of ways. Baker Elementary students made blue headpieces to resemble the wild blue hair and wore a paper plate that had thing numbers going up to 120. Many fun activities are planned for March Is Reading, including guest readers, read a shirt, poem, button, recipe or hat days and visits by authors Ruth McNally and Bob Shea.
