It was not a good day for Hopkins Friday in Belding at the O-K Silver Conference meet.
The Lady Vikings entered the contest with a 5-1 league dual meet record and they had their hearts set on challenging Belding for the overall title. They wound up third with 105 points, one less than runner-up Calvin Christian, while Belding took all the marbles with 159.
The Viking boys settled for fourth place after going 4-2 in dual meets. Belding won that competition as well, with 131, followed by Godwin at 103 and Calvin Christian at 100.
There were some bright spots for the Hopkins guys.
Junior Trey Collins won the league title in the pole vault and once again set the school record by clearing 13-6. Klinge finished second Friday at 11-6 and he was third in the 110-meter high hurdles.
Collins also was fourth in the high jump andin the long jump.

The best relay performances were a second in the 3200 by Fisher, Mary Wells, Beilby and Helder and thirds by the 1600 with Helder, Cassidy Finney, Brown and Helderop and the 400 that included Alex Jackson, Paris Corneille, Anna Washburn and Kelsey Dusseau.
