The Wayland boys’ bowling team Monday afternoon defeated a much improved Ottawa Hills outfit at the local Rock ’N Bowl. Meanwhile, the girls enjoyed a 29-1 romp.

The Wildcats once again lost that first Baker game again, 180-179.

“Again, it just proves how every pin is super important!” Exclaimed coach Sherry Miklusicak. “We came back with another good score and won the second Baker game 182-124.”

Dominik Baker marked in all four of his frames during the second Baker.

Match play game one was very one-sided, as the Wildcats topped their previous team high this year by 10 pins. Louie Harnish rolled a 211, Jayse Henkel 175, Wil Dewing 179, Dominik Baker 172 and Kyle VanEss found his groove with a 232.

“We took every possible point this match so were now leading 15-4,” reported Miklusicak.

Game two was also one sided, as Wayland lost only one point to a 235 game.

“There isn’t a lot you can do about that,” the coach said.

Louie Harnish had a 214, Jayse Henkel 147, Wil Dewing 156, Dom Baker 164 and Kyle VanEss 186.

Wayland boys lead the O-K Gold Conference and owns a 10-1 overall season record.

Lady Wildcats’ coach Eric Bottrall noted, “It was another easy win for our ladies today as we faced a team with only two bowlers. The ladies proceeded to claim every point but one, winning 29-1 over Ottawa Hills

The team’s first two Baker games of 137 and 126 put Wayland up 10-0.

Match play scores included Madison Bottrall 142, Faith Rabideau 101, Ashlynn Dykstra 135, Brooke Trumbull 123 and Haven Baker 176 for game one.

Game two: Ava Harnish 96, Jasmine Ortiz 100, Ashlynn Dykstra 133, Madison Bottrall 106, Haven Baker 163

It also was a great day for junior varsity rollers Raynie Arendsen with a 220 and Zach Straub with a 203 (See Cover Photo)
