Brian Collings, 64, dies at his home in Shelbyville

Brian L. Collings of Shelbyville died Wednesday, July 19, in his home. He was 64 years old.

Brian was born on Dec. 18, 1958, and grew up in Hopkins.

Brian retired from his job at Davidson Plyforms, after 20 years of service, where he was a machine operator manufacturing furniture.

Brian loved the outdoors. He was especially fond of going up north to his father-in-law’s cabin. He was also a hunter. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. 

Brian is survived by his wife, Tina, his father-in-law, Gary Leach, his step-children: Gary French and Heather Scobey; his four siblings: Sherry and Troy Olsen, Eugene Jr. and Janice Collings, Jay Collings, and Keith Collings; his sister-in-law Julie Leach, sister-in-law Penny Kaminski, and brother-in-law Dale Kaminski; 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Collings Sr. and Shirley Collings, and his mother-in-law, Corlyss Leach.
