Bridge over 140th Ave. in Leighton now repaired

The bridge on 140th Avenue over the Rabbit River in Leighton Township has been repaired by the Allegan County Road Commission. Motorists are reminded people that it is only a two-ton bridge. An area resident said, “We have more vehicles over size driving over this bridge; big trucks cannot go over it.”

That means I cannot drive my Chrysler Pacifica across the bridge legally. Why doesn’t the county just pull the old bridge out, drop a tube in and restore full capacity traffic?
