
Saturday, May 31, will be a very busy day for the Wayland, Hopkins and Martin athletic programs.
Featured in the day will be baseball and softball district tournaments and state finals competitions in track and field.
Softball
The Wayland High School team will face host Middleville Thornapple Kellogg in the district semifinals. The Wildcats (29-6 overall) beat TK with two shutouts in regular season play but was upset 7-5 in the finals of the Middleville Invitational.
The winner of that morning contest will meet the winner of the other semifinal game at noon between Hopkins (18-13) and Allegan. The finals will be played at 2 p.m.
MHSAA track finals
The Division 2 state finals track meet will be held at Hamilton High Schools. Wayland and Hopkins will be among the participants.
The Division 4 finals will be at Baldwin Middle School, Hudsonville.
Some information about admission:
You must purchase your tickets through GoFan. Each ticket will be $7. Please don’t validate tickets until at the ticket gate. Someone from Thornapple Kellogg will help validate your tickets.
A purchase of a ticket will get you into all three softball games, no need to purchase more than the one ticket.
