The weekly “Bygone Days” history column this week will be postponed until Saturday, July 7, because of the Fourth of July falling on a Wednesday this year.
Research for the column takes place at the Then & Now Historical Library in downtown Dorr. Then & Now is open every week from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
The author plans to visit Then & Now Saturday, July 7, like he should have done Saturday, June 30, but he had a senior moment similar to the one he had in June 2017 when he forgot to cover the Hopkins High School alumni banquet.
The customary Wednesday, July 11, Then & Now visit will facilitate the history column resuming in its usual fashion.
The author apologizes most sincerely to readers for his creeping forgetfulness.
