Preschool and kindergarten registration set for Feb. 17 and 18

Wayland Union Schools will have Early Childhood Nights from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Dorr Elementary School and Wednesday, Feb.18, at Baker Elementary. Baker Odyssey of the Mind team working on ‘wacky weather’

Baker Elementary School’s Odyssey of the Mind team is working on the problem “Wacky Weather.” The students had to create three wacky weather forecasts using rhyme and humor. The students involved are from kindergarten and first grade. They will be performing at the Odyssey of the Mind competition Saturday, Feb. 21, at Grandville High School.

Jayda Gale Distillery awarded DDA facade grant

Progress continues for the Jayda Gayle Distillery in downtown Wayland, as the Downtown Development Authority approved the new company for a DDA facade grant.
