Celebrating the 4th makes a triumphant return locally

The Dorr and Hopkins Fourth of July celebrations over the weekend made a triumphant return to the local scene after suffering through inactivity in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hopkins had its Independence Day activities all on Sunday, July 4. At left is the crew of the Hopkins Area Fire Department (HAFD) which took first place in the annual bed race. The cover photos is of a large group of eager spectators getting ready for the parade Saturday morning in Dorr. Closer examination will reveal former Wayland Mayor Burrell Stein among the throng,  attired in burgundy short and straw hat.
