Celebration of life for Bob Kaczanowski will be Oct. 20

Robert “Bob” Kaczanowski of Wayland died Sunday, Oct. 7, due to complications from cancer. He was 57.
Bob was born July 5, 1961 in Grand Rapids, to Gerald and Gloria (Snyder) Kaczanowski. He was a 1979 graduate of Wayland High School and was a lifelong Michigan fan, graduating from the university in 1986. He spent many years living and working on the east side of the state, where he leaves behind close friends.
Bob loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing with the dogs. He could often be found puttering around town on his bike, tinkering on a new project or shooting the breeze with friends and family.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Gerald and brother-in-law Richard Laycock. He is survived by his son Robert T. Kaczanowski of Indianapolis, Ind.; his mother Gloria; two sisters Sue (Mark) Laycock-Steffes and Beth Lewis; nieces and nephew Sarah Laycock and Marlee and Drew Lewis.
Per his wishes, cremation and a private service and burial will take place. A celebration of life honoring Bob will be held for friends and family on Saturday, Oct. 20.
