Celebration of Life for David Hilaski will be at Dorr Legion post

David Ray Hilaski, died at his home in Dorr on Friday May 22. He was 72.

David loved life and lived it to its fullest, and even though he suffered a stroke three years ago, he never complained. He retired from General Motors, and was a long time coach of the D & H and Silver Dollar softball teams.

He is survived by his children: Ken Hilaski, Janice Hilaski (Scott Roberts), Steve Hilaski, and Cassie Price Hilaski; sister Dorothy (James) Dever, brothers Robert (Janice) Hilaski, Leon (Cheryl) Hilaski, longtime friend Mary Litten, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Edna Hilaski and his sister Norma (Bill) Schaendorf.

Family will meet with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 4330 18th Street, Dorr, with a service at 7 p.m. A celebration of David’s life will be held at the Dorr American Legion Post from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 30.
