Richard D. Miller husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather died quietly at his home in Dorr late Thursday evening. He was 93.

Dick started his life on the Miller family farm in Hopkins under the watchful eyes of his late parents, Maynard and Edna Bender Miller.

After his schooling, Dick married Doris Bleeker and together they shared nearly 72 years.

Dick’s family was a constant source of pride for him and he thoroughly enjoyed being updated on all their latest adventures and events.

His agricultural career spanned many decades, and early on he spent time at Pet Milk, and later at Ellen’s Machinery in Wayland. After retiring from the dairy farm, Dick and Doris relocated to Wayland, where they enjoyed living for the past 34 years.

Surviving him are his wife, Doris; his two sons Dennis (Ellen) of Bay City, and Mark (Pat) of Wayland; grandchildren Paul, Stephen (Jeni), Benjamin and Matthew (Michelle) and Katie (Jason) Konkel; great-grandchildren Seth and Isaac Miller, Jack and Violet Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Phyllis; brother-in-law, Morey McBride; and infant son, Stephen.

A celebration of Dick’s life will be held Aug. 15, with additional information to follow.
