Edwin Scott Redder, 65, of Wayland, died Monday, May 3.
He was born Sept. 4, 1955, in Zeeland, the son of the late Edwin and Margie (Fleser) Redder. He was a dedicated employee of U.S. Engineering for 25 plus years.
He will be remembered for his teasing jokes, his gentle heart, his generous smile and his unfailing work ethic.
Ed is survived by his wife of 20 years, Joan (Reurink) Redder; four children, Travis Redder, Emily (Mike) Smajstrla, Joy Hitchcock, and Trent Redder, and four beloved grandchildren, Skylar, Mason, Mila, and Taylor, all of Florida, as well as Joan’s sons, Logan and Ross Reurink, all of whom also survive. Five older sisters survive, Nancy Meyers, Bonnie (Jay) Bosch, Lynn (Thurm) Bryant, Beth (Carl) Van Dam, and Sally (Doug) Van Hill.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Al Meyers.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate and honor his life will take place at a date to be determined.
