Celebration of life is Aug. 31 in Martin for Charles Wooten

Charles Wooten, age 72, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, after a battle with cancer.

Charles was born Feb. 14, 1947, in Vest, Ky., the son of James and Ora (Dobson) Wooten. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends.  Charles worked hard his entire life.  He was a roofer, a business owner and after he retired from roofing he became a driver for a local company.

Charles is survived by his former wife Theresa Wooten, sisters and brothers:, Buddy (Judy) Wooten, Bobbie Jean (Wilburn) Moss, Clova (Claud) Charles, Lula (Dave) Mathis, Shirley Risner, Estille (Nancy) Wooten, Bessie Wooten, and many nieces and nephews

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Lisa Marie (Wooten) Grigsby, His parents, Sister Stella, Brother David, Brother John, Sister Nancy and Nephew Clifton.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place.

The family will have a celebration of life service and luncheon at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Martin United Methodist Church, 969 E. Allegan St., Pastor Steve Wooten officiating.
