Celebration of life March 4 in Wayland for Sally Resner

Sally Ann Resner, age 79, of Wayland, died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 25.

Sally retired in 2008 from her role as supervisor at Kent County Juvenile Detention Center. Sally loved to go to the casino, go fishing, and cheer on her Lions and Spartans. Most important, she loved her family; they meant the world to her.

She is survived by her children Brenda (Charles) Wilkerson, Tammy Chapin, Norman (Yael) Resner Jr.; grandchildren Stacey (Steve) Gum, Samantha Resner, Tiffany Wilkerson, Zackary Alzate, Norman Resner III; great-grandchildren Lydia, Derek, Alayna, and Wyatt; brother, John (Laureen) Parks; and many extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Parks and her mother, Almeda Tuffs.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home – Wayland Chapel, 312 N. Main St

In memory of Sally and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association and Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
