David Reurink, age 60, died Wednesday, July 13.
David was always thoughtful of others and would stop and talk to and help anyone. He loved to have fun and joke around and could make anyone laugh. He was well known for his Daisy Duke shorts with his signature smirk and contagious laugh. David also loved to talk history and politics along with a good argument.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Reurink; mother, Ila Reurink; sons John (Alex) Reurink and Cody (Dani) Reurink; daughters Sarah and Madison Reurink; stepdaughters Renae (Jim) VanderBeek and Tonesa Montcastle; grandchildren Colton, Layne, Jayden, Preston, Grady, Karter, Jameson, and Liam; siblings Billy Reurink, Tom (Julie) Reurink, Bob (Trudi) Reurink, Caroline (Keven) Badalamente, Mike (Renee) Reurink, Cathy (Brian) Kuperus, Patti VandenToorn, and Tim (Holly) Reurink; best friend and nephew, Brian Reurink.
He was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” Reurink.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Wayland Christian Reformed Church, 303 Elm St., with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. A celebration of life party will be held at the farm, 744 140th Ave., Wayland, immediately following the memorial service.
