Kevyn Lee DeWit II of Dorr died May 9. He was 41.

He was a remarkable individual whose life was filled with a deep passion for music, an infectious sense of humor and an unwavering loyalty as a trusted friend. The tree of life was passed on through the selfless donation of his organs. Kevyn was a beacon of strength that will be missed by many.

Kevyn is survived by daughter Kaeleea DeWit, parents Kevyn and Anita DeWit Sr., sister Jessica (Gary) Guinn, and girlfriend Ashley Clary.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Millard Welsheimer and Elise Schweifler, John and Harriet DeWit; brother Marcus DeWit; cousin Benjamin Welsheimer; along with other close aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life will be held from. 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Grace Life Bible Church, 3020 Lake Michigan Drive NW, Grand Rapids. Family and close friends are invited to a luncheon following the service.
