Kinsley Zondervan, daughter of Wayland School Board member Pete and Wayland elementary teacher Kristiana Kay Zondervan, celebrated the first anniversary of her second delicate heart surgery Tuesday. Her mother posted, “If someone told me a year ago how well our sweet girl would be doing today, I’m not sure I would’ve believed it. A year ago (including her first open heart!) was the hardest and scariest thing I’ve ever endured as a parent. Kinsley was given to us for a reason and we’ve been blessed beyond measure to have made it out of the medical trenches stronger than we could’ve imagined. Today we celebrate our energetic, curious, chatty, opinionated, very smart and healthy heart hero!”
