Christmas sing-along planned for next folk gathering

Jam posterThe next local Rabbit River folk music gathering will be a Christmas special, beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Vibrant Grains Bakery and Restaurant, 142 S. Main St. in Wayland.

“Instead of a special guest artist, we are having a Christmas sing-along to start the evening and the holidays off,” said organizer J.D. Gonzales. “Come prepared to sing some songs as a group. I will have words up on the wall. Phil Long and I will be playing, but any other players fell free to join us on the stage area with your instruments.”

After the sing-along, there will be regular open mic and jam session.

Gonzales also offered a special message to patrons: “I know they (Vibrant Grains) are not making enough to justify hosting our gathering for free each month. And this has been going on for quite awhile. My words not theirs. They are not complaining, but they are a business and I always told them that it has to be a win-win for them and us to in order to keep meeting each month.

“So if you can please come hungry and enjoy their food offerings. That would be appreciated.”
