Citizens interested in running for City Council on the Nov. 8 general election ballot should be aware that nominating petitions will be available at City Hall beginning Thursday, April 21, during regular business hours.
Offices to be elected on November 8, 2022 include:
• (3) three City Council seats, (2) two-year term.
• (1) one mayor’s seat, (2) two-year term.
The filing deadline is 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, which is the same deadline as school board seats. Council petitions and must filed in the Wayland City Clerk’s office.
Individuals requesting a petition packet should contact City Clerk Lee Ann Clausen at 269-792-2265 or lclausen@cityofwayland.org and a packet can be mailed or picked up at City Hall.
The seats up for election currently are held by Mayor Tim Bala and Trustees Norman Taylor, Abe Garcia and Tracy Bivens.
